Beyond the Craft
Red Cross Order Has New Intendant-General
The Masonic and Military Order of the
Red Cross of Constantine has installed
Max Bayes as its new Intendant-General.
The event was also a milestone for the
Grand Sovereign, Cdr Ronald Champion,
as this was his last installation before his
retirement, his 50th installation ceremony
during his term in office.
Over 100 Knights, including many Grand
and Divisional Officers, attended the
ceremony. The Intendant-General
installed Michael Robinson as his deputy.
Red Letter Day for Notts Provincial Prior
The surviving founders of Corpus Christi
Preceptory of Knights Templar No. 462,
George Lovett, Bill Tyson and Owen Hall
are pictured along with the Provincial
Prior for Nottinghamshire, Michael
Morris and Provincial Sub- Prior
Christopher Rainbow, at a ceremonial
visit by the acting officers of the
Provincial Priory of Nottinghamshire to
mark the 100th meeting since its
consecration in 1975.
It was a memorable meeting for the
Provincial Prior, as he was the first
candidate to be installed into the
Preceptory in 1976!
Embroideress Extraordinary Makes Her Mark
Embroideress Anne Hall was the guest
of honour at the recent Ceremony of
Dedication of the new banner for St
Laurence Lodge of Mark Master
Masons No. 893, Province of
Worcestershire, at the Masonic Hall,
King’s Heath, Birmingham.
The wife of Provincial Grand Registrar
Fred Hall, Anne, along with 144 other
wives, friends and Mark Master
Masons, witnessed the ceremony of
dedicating the banner which she had
made.
The ceremony was performed by a team
led by Francis Spencer, Mark Provincial
Grand Master for Worcestershire.
Anne was surprised when four other
banners which she had made for Mark
lodges in the Province were paraded
into the lodge as a gesture of respect for
her consummate skills in making such
beautiful artefacts.
At the Festive Board, Roger Bennett,
Master of St Laurence Lodge, presented
her with a bouquet of flowers, an
inscribed cut glass vase and a rose
called ‘Mrs Anne Hall’.
Order of the Secret Monitor Gains Strength in Cheshire and North Wales
The Order of the Secret Monitor (OSM) is
continuing to grow in the Province of
Cheshire and North Wales. In the past two
years three Conclaves have been
consecrated by Provincial Grand Supreme
Ruler James McKeeman and his deputy
Samuel Keery.
The third consecration, of Conclave Maen
Achwyfan No. 514 took place at the Lady
Augusta Masonic Hall, Rhewl, Mostyn,
where William Bell was installed as its
first Supreme Ruler.
The Conclave takes its name from an
early British sculptured stone cross which
stands alone in what is now a field, but
was once moorland, with prehistoric
burial grounds nearby.
