RMBI
Services Provided by the RMBI
The Royal Masonic Benevolent
Institution (RMBI) has been caring for
older freemasons and their dependants
for more than 160 years. The RMBI
operate 17 care Homes across England
and Wales offering a range of high
quality care. Many of the Homes are
registered for both residential and
nursing care and a number offer
specialist dementia care.
Limited sheltered accommodation is
offered for those people who prefer to
live more independently, but with
support nearby in an emergency, as well
as short-stay breaks, including respite
care. These are helpful for both those
living alone, and for families that need a
little respite from the demands of caring
for an older relative.
The RMBI treat everyone as an
individual. Every potential resident is
assessed to find out what type of care
package would best meet their needs. A
tailor-made care plan is put together
which is reviewed on a regular basis.
Residents who choose an RMBI Home
have the security of knowing that they
have a home for life regardless of any
change in their financial circumstances,
as long as the institution can cater for
their particular care needs.
DEMENTIA CARE
All RMBI Homes are able to offer places
to people with dementia, dependent on
the needs of the individual. As well this,
six RMBI Homes contain specialist
Dementia Support Units
which provide specific
care for those residents
with dementia.
These Units include:
- Trained staff who
specialise in dementia
care;
- Enclosed gardens to
provide a safe outdoor
space;
- Signage and décor
sympathetic to the
needs of people with
dementia.
RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING CARE
RMBI Homes with
residential and nursing
care provide:
- Day-to-day support;
- A comfortable and safe
environment to live in;
- Well-balanced diet to
maintain healthy living;
- Activities of real
interest and enjoyment;
- Privacy and dignity;
- Support for physical, spiritual,
intellectual, emotional and social
needs;
- Personal care – that is, assistance with
getting up and going to bed, eating,
washing, dressing and using the
amenities that the Home has to offer.
